I spent about 2 hours editing photos in v2.3, and all seemed to be working fine.Ģ.

I said yes, and everything seemed to update OK.

I installed v2.3 over v1.4 – it asked me if I wanted to upgrade (my catalog I think?) to v2 files.

If it helps, here is what happened in detail:ġ. However, when I do this, I lose every single imported photo I’ve ever loaded into LR (c.2000) plus all the associated edits (many 100s of hours of work)… This is not good! I can usually find an answer to my problem on the net, but with this one, all roads seem to lead back to you, and your suggestion to delete the Preferences files. I’ve been having a lot of problems with LR v2.3, which I installed over v1.4. Didn’t even get to the “License or Try” page. When I load up Lightroom on that machine I get a message “error changing modules” Reinstalled a few times but always get the same message. I also have a 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 2 gig of memory Mac. I was told it would flash up when I installed. I went to Adobe once and the phone call indicated I should have a number other then the serial number. If I have to activate the program could you give me a link as to where I can go.

The first thing that came up was the window “License or Try” Went through the whole process again and when I restarted the program again I got the the same window “License or Try” Something is wrong but I don’t know what preferences to delete or where to find them. Hit finish and the first window indicated everything went well.Īs I was still connected to the net I got a message “A later version is available” so I downloaded 1.4.1(I think thats the version).Ĭlosed down the program and later restarted. I’m running an iBook G4 mac, 1 gig of memory.īought a brand new copy of Adobe Lightroom version 1.1 (I think) Installed the program and arrived at the window “License or Try” Opted for “I have a serial number” and went through the process of entering “Country”, “First Name”, “Second Name” and “Email Address” (twice) then entered the 24 serial numbers. I also have two mac machines which have a better screen and are faster. Try importing some of your photographs into this new test catalog to see if the problem remains.Ĭlose Lightroom, and find the preferences files.įor Mac OS X that can be found at /Library/Preferences/ and for Windows it’s Documents and Settings/ /Application Data/Adobe/Lightroom/Preferences/Lightroom Preferences.agprefs.īack them up to another location in case you want to restore them later, and then delete the preference file from the above location. Go to the File menu and choose New Catalog. Create a New Catalog to see if catalog corruption is causing the problems. Press Relaunch and Optimize and wait for it to tell you it’s completed.Ĥ. Go to the File menu and choose Catalog Settings. If Lightroom starts behaving weirdly, and you can’t find a logical explanation, there’s a few things you can try.
